Ella Claire Smiles on New York City

She’s a winner!

On May 30th, I wrote a little piece about Ella Claire and mentioned my thinking to submit this picture to a contest sponsored by Sony Electronics and Reuters Media. The winning pictures were to be featured on digital billboards in New York’s Times Square.

I almost missed the deadline for the submission. Our internet connectivity in Lake Havasu is spotty, and I had tried a couple of times and failed. Finally on the last day, I sent this picture, along with a blurb telling the background story.

A couple of days ago, I received this message from the contest management:

Everyday Smiles program: Your picture has been approved

So, from time to time, Ella Claire’s riveting smile is being flashed on an electronic billboard in New York’s Time Square. Cool, don’t you think.

She was married to Jerry for 63 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Life changed all at once, and Blogville had to g on the back burner. Missed the due date… too bad for me! I’m not surprise she won, I was certain she would 🙂

Oh, well, there will be another contest on another day. Much more important things than that. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks for sharing the link. I had submitted some pics and they were approved, too. You can view them at my blog.

They’re beautiful. I looked at them earlier today.

I’ll be flying to San Diego this Tuesday. Get to see that bright smile of Ella Claire’s in person. Can hardly wait.

Hope you have a really great trip. How long will you be there?

That is cool! She is so cute. My nieces, Antonia and Melody, were selected also. I submitted pics after reading your post. We thought it was neat. It’s funny cause a bunch of pentecostal people’s pictures were posted by each other on the site. My niece’s pic were posted right by the pics of Sis. Allard’s beautiful children. Thanks for clueing us into that. It was fun.

This is really cool–so many of us with beautiful smiles. I haven’t seen the pictures on the billboard yet.

How wonderful is that. Her smile was destined for the bright lights. BTW, you take amazing pictures.

Karen, thank you. By the way, I never can get your link to work. Don’t know if it is my computer, but it never works for me. Maybe you can check it out.
