Dinner on the Patio at Mike and Mel’s

Dinner on the Patio at Mike and Mel’s, originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.

Monday evening was so beautiful, that after Mel had prepared dinner, we moved everything outside and ate our lasagna on their patio. Mike set the outdoor fireplace to blazing, the air was mellow and the food was delicious. One major problem: that table and those stools are high and hard to move around, so after I clambered up, I was having a hard time scooting my stool to the table, so Mike bounced off his chair, came around the table and shoved me up. I felt like a little kid!

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 81 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 64 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

You’re right, of course, Holly…they are wonderful people. They’ll be at our house the day after Christmas, so maybe you can pop up and see them.

We’re having a good time…love the traveling…love visiting people…but I’ll be glad to be home again.

Love you.

Wow – Great picture! Please give Mike and Mel my love. They are WONDERFUL people, wish I had the opportunity to spend more time with them. They’ll have to book their airline flights incorrectly again soon, so we can have lunch with them again.

Safe travels to you and Bro. Buxton. You’re sorely missed too, but I’m glad you’re travelling and enjoying yourselves.

Hugs to all…
