Most of my friends think I’m kind of batty, but I enjoy winter weather and when it rains and snows here in Crestline, I am delighted. In fact, I wish it were a little colder today for this Thanksgiving holiday, and wish snow were in the forecast. But it’s not, and in many ways it will be better once all the youngsters arrive, for they will pull out the bikes, trikes, scooters, balls, and hoops and tear around here. When it’s snowy and icy, we’re always putting on and taking off boots and mittens and there are mounds of jackets on the landing.
So this morning, I’m having my winter fix by looking at these ice storm pictures taken in Switzerland. Never seen anything like it, and there are many more pictures of this incredible ice storm here.
How is your weather? Snow anyone? or does your landscape boast palm trees swaying in a balmy breeze?
Just checked the thermometer. Reporting 42 degrees in Crestline, CA. Nice and nippy.

Sorry I took so long to answer your question.
It was in Sarreguemines – East France. The barges were stuck in the frozen river.

Sis. Buxton,
Almost everything is covered in 2-3 inches of a beautiful, white winter blanket. The sun is glistening off the snow like sunshine on millions of microscopic mirrors scattered across the rolling hills. To quote a rather overused phrase, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!”
Please express our warmest Thanksgiving wishes to all of the family.

Here in Meridian, Idaho we had our first snow yesterday morning. It has been getting a bit chilly the last few days, the lowest so far is 8 degrees. Right now out side it is 28 degrees. It’s is almost time to get the winter coats out. But not yet.
Ya all have a great Holiday.

I wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. The weather here in Antofagasta Chile is in the the 70’s with a gentle ocean breeze…. Just not the correct weather for a traditional Thanksgiving holiday.

Fantastic pictures. When I think that one year (1962) we had ice INSIDE the windows… BRRRR!!!
I am definitely accustomed to California.
It’s nice in Orange, cold enough to wear winter clothes, but no heater on. Soon though.
Best to you and your family and all who come visit your blog. Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, my mommy and daddy… 😦 I can’t believe you won’t be with us or any of us girls on Thanksgiving. Things just have never been the same since Mike passed away.
But, I must stay positive and happy. My boys and hubby need me to. 😀 We’ll just make new and different traditions. Change is good sometimes.
Sis. Buxton, don’t be too sad for my parents because I’ve been asking God for a miracle for them to move back to CA and He answers my prayers. 😀 I just need to be patient. Hey, we’ll all be together for Christmas! Praise the Lord! 😀
Sis. Buxton, we wish you and your awesome family a Happy Thanksgiving and may God bless you! Wish I could play Rook with you. 🙂
Love you lots!

I’m too sad that you are having Thanksgiving alone. That is not right. 😦
I’ll hug all the kids for you and Papa. I’m making spaghetti for dinner, the ham for tomorrow is cooking right now (it was an uncooked one, and other than my micro/convection, I have only one oven and didn’t think I could manage it all tomorrow. I’ll glaze it and heat it up just before we eat dinner..after Tom is cooked and resting.)
Love you both a lot.

Hi everyone…………… here in southern Mississippi we are expected to get a thunder storm today. The temp is great – in the 70’s. Papa and I set out on the porch and watch the lightening and listen to the thunder. I love it. No humidity lately, a blessing. Just nice “no sweater” weather. I really like the thunder storms. We did not have many in Sacramento. It rained but very little thunder and lightening.
Just me and Papa so guess we’ll go out for turkey dinner. That’s okay though. Like I told the kids, if we could not be with them, then it did not really matter where we are.
You all have a great couple of days and Sis. Buxton, give all those wee ones kisses and hugs from me and Papa. Love ya’

Wow! I don’t know about the ice, but I love a good hard rain. I guess being from Sacramento, CA that’s all we got. But now, I’m looking forward to some showers with thunderstorms that are in the forecast… get lots of those here. =) Love you and God bless, Von de Leigh
