Persistent Posting Problems

At neither the branch nor the main library here in Bakersfield do they have wireless service, so that I am not able to use our own computer to post. Yesterday, I was able to quickly get on one of the library’s computers, but today the sign-up sheet indicated it would have taken me two hours to have a turn. I’m typing now on one of their two 15 minute time limit computers.

I’m becoming more and more tempted to utilize Verizon’s sattelite service to access the internet while traveling, but I believe it is around $60.00 a month, and I really don’t want to spend that much. Anyone have any ideas?

Sue, I do already use Verizon, both for my land line and for my cell phone service, so maybe it would be $60.00 for me. I am giving it some thought. Does it require a lengthy contract?

Shirley, it’s $80 per month unless you already have an account by Verizon. I have one and use it every day. It came in handy when we were driving from Kansas City to DC and back. There were a few dead spots between major cities, but all in all well worth it. It’s certainly better than having to rely on free wifi or libraries.
