Sir Winston and His Manhood

I didn’t tell him about it, but I believe he sensed anyway that something was different about today. I had given himImagea bath last night, but he gets dirty so easily, especially since he loves to dig in the black dirt, so I scooped him up, set him on a bar stool, and with his own cloth, I washed his small body, his four spotted paws, his head, ears, and specially around his eyes.  As he often does when I wash his face, he laid into my chest. Today, he lifted his little face, and with his telling brown eyes, he looked hard into mine. I could have wept. A couple of hours ago, we drove Winston to his vet. Today, he will be neutered.

ImageHe looked worried as I snapped his picture after I washed him.

ImageI left him in the care of the sweet people at Rimforest Animal Hospital. I’m awaiting a call to hear that his surgery is finished. I’m sad.

5:45 Monday, May 19 Winston has been home a couple of hours and is doing well. He’s a little groggy and can’t have food until 8:00, although I have given him a little water, and it has caused him no problems.

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 84 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 63 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Even though we know what is best
It is hard. However I am glad you had it done. I am sure I would have wanted one of his puppies. I thought I had promised myself no pets to look after. Lol. Winston has just about ruined that thought.

I know, Sister Keyes. He is such an exceptional pup, I found it hard to think of his not fathering any puppies. But it’s best, given our situation. He is wonderful today, seems to have no pain at all, bouncing around as though nothing ever happened. We’re supposed to keep him from jumping or anything strenuous for 5 days . . . don’t know..Love you.

“He won’t even remember it” is what they say about all little boys who are close to our hearts. Furry or non-furry. I keep asking Sis. Hogan if Bro. Hogan’s gotten her a new puppy yet.

I hope he doesn’t remember, but I’m afraid he may associate the vet’s office now with pain. I think I’ll take him by occasionally and have them give him a puppy cooky so he won’t be afraid there. Yep, Hogan’s need a pup!

Poor, poor Winston 😦 He will be alright, just a little lighter on his feet 🙂

So sad for him. The hospital called an hour or so ago, said he had come through the surgery fine, but was still a little groggy. I can pick him up around 3:30. I suspect he won’t be eager to visit the vet any more. 🙂

Your a wonderful owner… prayer all goes well

Thank you, Dolores for your concern and sweet remarks. I know it is the right thing to do, but both my husband and I feel badly for Winston. He is an eight-month-old Shiz-Tzu, with whom we are totally smitten. 🙂
