Feet and Faces of Phoenix Ladies Conference

It was a dynamite ladies conference–the one I just attended at the Marriott in Phoenix. Powerful speakers, smooth operation, magnificent music, fine facilities, good food, superb friends…just a perfect conference. Take a look at some faces and some feet.

I “stole” this picture from Sister Wagner’s site. (Easier to get forgiveness than permission, I have been told. 🙂   )

It was lingering prayer. It was dancing in the spirit. It was a burden. It was seeking after God. It was babies. It was magnificent music. It was fun and skits and laughter. It was beautiful young women, and those aged ones of wisdom and of honor.

By Shirley Buxton

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 84 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 63 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Shirley, I haven’t posted anything for quite some time due to illness. I would love to ask you a question about your writing a book about someone’s life. Have you ever considered doing so? How do I send you a personal message without everyone seeing it? Can I leave you a number or email address? I have been spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, and sexually abused during the course of my life. I am 59 and several very close friends said others could learn spiritual lessons and growth as I have sought to maintain a close and personal relationship through each of these trials. I was in a cult situation, which preached salvation through grace, yet the pastor sexually abused myself and at least 11-12 others (that the invesitgators could uncover). However, no charges and no publicity was every brought to this situation. The man who called himself “Preacher” is now dead.

I’ve had time since my disability in 2007 to realize just how God has seen me through so many situations. I only have a high school education and have or had a problem with cognitive disorder, major depressive disorder, short term memory along with my physical limitations.

Are you interested in hearing my story and editing etc.? Please let me know.
my email address is: http://www.reasonranch@hotmail.com
Please do not publish this for anyone to see.
Thanks, Woundedlily known in life as Ms. Ellen

I attended a Ladies Conference there years ago, and it was wonderful. I’m sure it’s only gotten better in the 10 or 11 years since I was there. I really want to attend next year. Please keep me posted on the details. Rebecca and I will drive there together – make sure you give us REALLY GOOD directions!

This year looked fabulous – three of my all-time favorite ladies: Nancy G., Sis. White, and Shirley Buxton – who could ask for anything more?

I love you and miss you…

Beautiful pictures. Wish I had been there.

Next time, let me know. I’ll kidnap Rebecca, and we’ll race off to Phoenix to meet you there. It will be just like old times.

Holly, I want that to happen next year. I may have told you before, but I am so impressed with the Arizona district. It reminds me of the Western District years ago. No cliques and no feeling of “we’re a little holier than you are.” Just a strong feeling of unity, love and simple caring for each other. Although the leadership is recognized and honored, there is not a lot of talk about how wonderful this one and that one is. Very refreshing.

Let’s plan for next year.

Love you so much.
