It adds to my disrespect and to my disgust of President Obama that he now has resorted to vulgar street language. Such response to a most extreme problem does nothing to quiet my fears concerning his wisdom, nor do I feel comforted as I consider what seems to be his shocking lack of skill, competence, and judgment.

Helen, even if Shirley and others disliked Barack Obama previously, they can still disapprove of this more recent act.
I don’t talk that way. I don’t like hearing other people talk that way. I certainly do not want a president to talk in such an uncouth and undignified way.

We no longer know what is vulgar anymore…we have been conditioned to every type of vulgarity known to mankind to think that is the “normal” now. Crude language, vulgar music and provocative clothing is the normal way of living your life now…no longer having prayer meetings and Bible study in the home. My Christian way of life is belittled and made fun of..as in what planet are you from..For me and my family we will worship the Lord and wear clothes…that means..no swearing…

I too am disgusted by the vulgarity of our president and vice president. What kind of example is this for the younger generation? As far as I’m concerned, Mr. Obama is selling this country down the tubes.

Sorry Helen:
This man who represents himself as educated and refined has show his educational standings to be in question. One whose choice of words reflects to the slang of the “Hood,” has degraded his position in my sight. I have and will hold all and any who proclaim high office of leadership to the same standard.

Shirley, get real. You were “sincerely disheartened” with Obama long before this remark. You look for reasons not to like him.

Helen, both the respected Oxford Dictionary and the New Oxford American Dictionary on my computer agree with the English Daily that slang is used here. They go further though. Their complete definition is: VULGAR SLANG. Both dictionaries define the slang as VULGAR.
However, I’m not interested in going back and forth to compare dictionary definitions. And you’re right about the planet: Sometimes I feel as though I’m surely in a strange and unusual place, a place that has changed to such degree that pure language, high morals and laudable ethics that were common and accepted among most upstanding people a few years ago have plummeted to such sorry levels as to be hardly recognizable. It’s pitiful. It’s abysmal.
So yes, Helen, respectfully, I may indeed be from another planet…at least I hope I’m headed for another…and I’m thoroughly disgusted with this President–as I would be with any President–who would stoop to use such vulgar language. I’m sincerely disheartened.

June 8 – Obama says he wants to know “whose <*& to kick" over the spill, adding to the pressure on BP. In an TV interview Obama also says that if Hayward worked for him, he would have fired him by now.
Here is the link to the above quote;

Agree with you, Mervi.
Mel, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding the exact quote, and I feel confident you will agree that it is unbecoming speech for the President of the United States.

The comment which I heard our President make with regard to the oil spill in the Gulf, “ I am going to kick (slang for the posterior) of BP over this.”
Yes! His choice of words did grieve me. As an educated person he should have been able to control his emotions and his choice of words.

Agree, Tena. Strongly agree. We have sunk to an abysmal low. Positively shocking.

He’s just as crude as the oil he is speaking about. I will also say he is crass – so unrefined as to be lacking in discrimination and sensibility. NOT how the president of the USA is expected to talk and act. He may be a wonderful man, father, husband, etc., but not wonderful in the position of President of the USA…not at all.

I’m not a prude, Tena, but I don’t even want to post his quotation on my site. Google President Obama’s vulgarity and you will easily find it. It was in regard to the oil spill.
