Now Behold The Lamb

Listen and watch this music performed by the Signing Team of the Rock Church, a United Pentecostal Church in Sacramento, Ca., pastored by Myles Young and Nathaniel Wilson. Kirk Franklin wrote this beautiful song. His group sings it here.

My devotional blog is here.

By Shirley Buxton

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 84 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 63 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Sis. Buxton, Yes, it’s Mike’s father. He was a fantastic signing teacher. The hearing impaired as well as signing “students” loved him. I know the Rock Church greatly misses them.

Sis.Rummel, whenever you visit them again, please tell them hello for me.

I’m not sure why it surprises me so much that Gary English is a teacher of sign-language. It’s wonderful, and I’m sure that family is drastically missed at the Rock Church, and loved wherever they go to church in San Antonio.

Yes, Sis. Buxton, the very same Gary English, Jennifer’s father-in-law.
He is very good at signing and teaching others to sign. But, now he is in San Antonio, as you probably know. We miss them but are only 500 miles so not too far to visit, which we have done. I can’t say I really miss The Rock Church, although it is an awesome church. However, I find the Woodlawn church and Bro. Carney just as inspiring. We also have a tremendous signing group. If you give me your address there in Lake Havasu I can send you a DVD of our Christmas program. You will see what I mean. We are so thankful for this wonderful church. If we did not have it we would surely go bananas living here away from all our sweeties. Love you, Esther

Hello, Esther. My address is 3501 Highway 95 N. LHC, AZ. 86404…will look forward to the DVD.

I’m not surprised that you are happy at Woodlawn with Pastor Carney. I don’t know them very well, but they seem to be sweet, sincere people. Their church plant is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. It would be striking anywhere, but set there in that tiny town, it is most mind-boggling.

It’s wonderful how God ministers through very different people–different personalities, different styles–but the same Spirit.

Love you, too.

This makes me miss home. They really do an incredible job signing. I want to give honor to Bro.Gary English who started the deaf ministry in the Rock Church. His family was an integral part of the church for such a long time. He taught many people to sign and thus a music ministry was born that both the hearing impaired and those with hearing could worship to.

Von de Leigh–Is this Gary English the same as the father of Mike? I had no idea he was involved in deaf ministry.

I continue to be glad I bought a MacBook. You will continue to love it, guarantee that. Isn’t that music beautiful…a very moving song.
