Unforgettable Birthday Present

It was a little girl’s birthday and her father was in Iraq. At least that’s what she thought. Click here to see a short video of the present he prepared. During a school assembly with everyone watching, she opened the gift box and her dad stepped out. Isn’t that the neatest thing.

My devotional blog is here.

By Shirley Buxton

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 81 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 64 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Wow! Thanks for posting such a powerful video. If all dads were like this dad, I think we’d have a lot fewer problems in America.

I salute him for his service to our country and for his love for his family.

Hello, R Guy. Doesn’t that make you proud to be an American and to know we have men such as that defending our country…and defending families. He’s surely a great man.

Oooo, I got goose bumps. Love it! Thanks so much for sharing!

Hello, Tena. You’re welcome. I’ve watched it several times…and keep crying.

That was great. I watched it several times in a row – and cried every time. Makes me so grateful for my husband. He’s SUCH a great dad, and gratefully, my boys get to spend time with him every day.

Hi Holly. You chose well (or he chose..or you both chose, I suppose). It’s obvious Patrick is a great dad.
