Record Breaking Sunday!

Christ Alive Congregation, originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.

Eighty-five was the count! Eight months ago, Jerry and I came to Lake Havasu to start a new church. Two people beside Jerry and me were in the first service. Today, we had 85!

There are more pictures and details of the service under My Church Activities.

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 84 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 63 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

How truly awesome! When I read the report and saw the picture I just felt so overwhelmed with joy and started to weep.

I will be rejoicing with you and praying with and for you.

May God continue to bless you and Bro. Buxton and the city of Lake Havasu.

Tremendous! Fantastic! Woo! Hoo! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! I feel like shouting with Jana. Thank you for sharing this good report with us all. We’ll keep praying for your new church that God would continue to bless and save.

WOW!!! That is truly awesome!
No fair, Holly Bren!! You got to be there!! I immediately recognized Nate in the pictures and started looking for Rebecca. Now I have to go back and look for my favorite Garretts!!! 🙂

Sis. Buxton, Mark and I will be praying for continued growth to your “refired” church!!!! (I really liked that line in Debbie’s comment!) God continue to bless Lake Havasu and Your people there!

Hi, Jerry Ann. Welcome to my site.

I don’t know why it is so hard to remember that the church indeed is His work. Well, when its going good, we like to think it’s ours–when the struggle comes and we have 3 instead of 85, we say, “You know God, this is Your work.” 🙂

Hope you visit and comment here often.

I just know you through friends, but have read your book and enjoy your sight. God bless you all in your endeavor for the kingdom. The secret is for us to remember it is His church and He will do the work if we do our part and will let him. Trust…
believing that God will do the right thing …is the hardest thing to come by at times.
Blessings to you..

Praise God Sister Shirley that is just an awesome work for the Lord. I will definetely be praying for your work in Havasu. May God just keep bring the souls. Keep preaching that One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism Gospel in the Name of Jesus.

God Bless

How exciting!! God is raising up an awesome church in Lake Havasu! When others are retiring. . . .Gerald & Shirley Buxton are refiring!! I’m so excited. You all and Lake Havasu are in our prayers! Keep the fire burning!! We rejoice with you!!

HOLLY and MIKE…was it not fabulous? So glad both of you were there…could hardly have functioned without you.

GAYLA, thank you for praying for us. We have lots of work to do to get these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

JANA, give the mule to Brian. 🙂

This was an unforgettable experience. I’m so glad I was there.

Did you receive my emails? I sent you some pictures and an address.

Love you!

GENE and RONDA–we’re happy.

Now, though, we’re projecting into next week and wanting to get everyone back. It’s a challenge–but what a joy, as both of you well know. Do pray for us.

We’re still amazed that God has given us that beautiful building to use at absolutely no cost. What a blessing that is.
