Introducing Ella Claire Buxton

Introducing Ella Claire Buxton, originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.

She was born on Tuesday, weighing 6 lbs, 13 ounces, and measuring 17 3/4 inches long. Yesterday she went home from Redlands Community hospital in the company of her mother, father and big sister, Chloe. Her brothers are still here in Crestline with Pappy and me.

This morning when I spoke with Andrew on the phone, I asked, “Well, how was your first night home? Did she sleep?”

“Yes, she slept, Mom. At 2:00 am she finally nodded off. She wants to eat all the time.”

A couple of hours ago, I asked again, “Well, how are things? Is she sleeping?”

“All day long, Mom,” the new father answered in a resigned, weary voice.

I snickered and couldn’t help myself. “Saving up for tonight, is she?”

Andrew growled. I hung up the phone.

My daily devotion is here.

By Shirley Buxton

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 81 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 64 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Congratulations, Scott. Our Ella Claire has turned out to be quite a character…definitely has a mind of her own. She’s adorable–never misses a trick!

Keep us posted.

Just heard from aprdmommy that I was incorrect in my assumption that the next Buxton would come from Chris and Christina!!! Congratulations Joel and Aisha on the birth of your TINY little bundle!!

Keep growing Buxton clan, can’t hurt to have more good people here on earth!!!

Love you, Jana

Wow, you Buxtons just keep growing and growing! Ella Claire is lovely and I am sure the whole Buxton clan is so excited to have her join them! Isn’t the next great grandbaby from Chris and Christina??
Congratulations Andrew and Shawna! Enjoy her, even the sleepless nights!! 🙂

Larry, thank you for the sweet comments.

Congratulations to you. Six! Six girls. How exciting and wonderful that is. Just wait, before you know it, you will have six handsome sons-in-law. I want to see pictures of your new baby when she arrives.

I too love the name Ella Claire. Her sister’s name is Chloe Marin. Aren’t they both beautiful names.

Congrats! She is beautiful! Takes after her gramma I think.

There will be a new one here anyday! That will make six in my home, six girls that is. I lov’em to pieces. What an awesome name. Ella Claire. Perfect!

Hello Chris, and welcome to my site. Hope you will be here frequently. Yes, children are wonderful. The grandchildren? Exceptional.

Linda, You have good eyes. She is really quite beautiful.

As the Good Book says; “Children are a heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb is His reward.”

I just ‘stumbled’ on your blog through a link from one of your posts on another blog. Seeing the picture of that beautiful baby made me feel thankful for my own (5) kids.

Best Regards

Chris Bloor

What a beautiful bundle of joy. Oh my word, she is just soooooooooo precious!!! Tell all hello for me and give them our congrats.

Good morning, everybody, and thanks for taking the time to gaze at beautiful Ella Claire. I’ll get to see her and hold her again today or early tomorrow. We’ll be taking the boys home.

Esther, that would be really neat if she looks like you. I really cannot tell, but then, I’ve only seen her once and she was just a few hours old.

I agree that the Buxtons seem to have strong genes, but I think Gentry favors Bill Rummel a lot.

Thanks for visiting here. Trust all is well with all of you.

Andrew E-mailed me some pictures. Maybe we finally have a Huggins/Rummel look-a-like. All the other kids favor the Buxtons. Shawna said people tell her that EllaClaire favors me. Yea! Can’t wait to hold her. We live for our grandkids now. I agree, they are the joy of our lifes. Jennifer and I are going down next month. Hope all is well with you and Bro. Buxton. God is soooo good. Love, Esther (proud grandmother of 12).

Hello, Linda.

Thank you for sharing in the joy of Ella Claire. You’re right, of course, there is nothing like grandchildren. I’m especially blessed in that I have two sets of grandchildren; one set is grown and they have children of their own. Jerry and I have five great-grandchildren, and will have another one later this month. Think that will be all of the babies in this family for quite a while.

It’s a happy day…wish the same for yoy. Congratulations on your granddaughter who is one month old.

SO PRECIOUS! There is nothing like holding your newborn grand-daughter in your arms! Isn’t it amazing how your heart saves room for each grand-baby born? Our newest grand-daughter will be one month tomorrow. Time is already going too fast! Ella Claire is beautiful. Congratulations!!
