Lead speaker and Singer, originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.
A great number of you have indicated your interest in the ministry of Jerry and me, and although the conference I just attended was small, and not open to everyone, I just feel in my spirit that I must share part of that dynamic conference with you. The sessions were held in Bakersfield, Ca., were rather low-keyed and open only to pastors’ wives and a few other women. I was delighted to receive an invitation, and I savored every minute of this great conference.
The conference lasted two days and my favorite part was the beautiful ministry of the Sisters Bunch and Breeze. Their husbands, known simply as Bunch and Breeze, are well known throughout the United Pentecostal Church–indeed they often make appearances at our conferences that run in the thousands. Since it was a women’s conference, it didn’t seem right to the leadership to invite Bunch and Breeze, but someone felt a leading that we needed that sort of a spirit to minister to us, so the wives of Bunch and Breeze were invited. They trekked long from their dwellings somewhere in deep canyons and distant mountains, and just in time found their way into the gymnasium where we were waiting in Bakersfield.
Their unique words of exhortation and their unbelievable talent at singing and playing were absolutely astonishing—not to mention the appeal of their cutting-edge costuming.I truly can say it was one of the highlights of my life. My spirits soared and I definitely felt a new anointing—or something—maybe it wasn’t anointing, but it was definitely something.
Forgive me, leadership of the ladies department, if I am sharing something I should not. I just cannot help myself. The ministry of Sisters Bunch and Breeze is too phenomenal to be limited to our small group: the rest of the world must be exposed to these dynamic, stunningly talented women.
(Travel Update Thursday AM: Jerry and I left our rig in Bakersfield yesterday and drove to our home here in Crestline in the afternoon. Bakersfield is 161 miles from Crestline. We stopped off in San Bernardino and had dinner with Rebecca and Nathaniel at the Claim Jumper. We’ll leave here before noon and go back to Bakersfield. We plan to tour our new district offices tomorrow, then on Sunday, Jerry will preach at the Burton’s brand new church in east (?) Bakersfield. Monday, we’re off for Arizona.)
(Revival Update: I just went over to Andrew’s blog where he has posted several pictures of new people being added to the kingdom. Exciting news!)

Maria, yes the US is interesting. I’m sure you know Sisters Bunch and Breeze were the entertainment part of a conference. š
