The View From Our Condo in Keystone, Colorado

DSC_0236, originally uploaded by Shirley Buxton.

Our condo in Keystone had glass walls and sliding doors overlooking this lake, which in the winter time completely freezes, so that it is used for ice skating. The view was nothing short of spectacular. The elevation was 9300 feet, and although it didn’t bother Jerry and me too much, it was a challenge for some of the other speakers. Since we live at 5000 feet, the adjustment was easier for us, I believe, although at times, I felt a bit short of breath.

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 81 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 64 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

Yes, Tena, we arrived home yesterday afternoon. The trip was absolutely wonderful, especially the conference services. And as you can see, the scenery was just incredible.

Yes, we’re going to general conference–leaving 3 weeks from Wednesday, I believe. I will be attending another ladies conference next week in Santa Ana, but that is the only special meeting we have planned until after general conference. We’ll probably try to get down to San Diego for one of the weekends in September. In October, we’re going up your way–Jerry’s preaching for several people including the O’Keefe’s and Brother Grayson…I think the Connell’s also.

Just visited Ronda Hurst’s site, and saw some of the beautiful wedding pictures. You have been one busy girl…but then, what else would I expect.

Love all of you.
