Terrorist at the Airport?

I found this on a site called: Forwarded. It consists of internet messages forwarded here and there. I love this. It should give you a little joy and a laugh before you tackle the post after this one. That one is quite sad.

Camel Parked

Editor’s note: I apologize to any camel riders out there, this is just so wrong – but it was forwarded to me so I had to post it, that is sort of the nature of the beast.

By Shirley Buxton

Still full of life and ready to be on the move, Shirley at 81 years old feels blessed to have lots of energy and to be full of optimism. She was married to Jerry for 64 years, and grieves yet at his death in August of 2019. They have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren...all beautiful and highly intelligent--of course. :)

So you mean arabs are terrorists by saying preponderance of terrorists have been of such countries.

Certainly not all Arabs are terrorists.

Shirley, I am sorry I ruined your dinner. I just think that more people who ride camels are not terrorists than are, no matter what country they come from. I think M. L. King Jr. was right in that the US must rid herself of racism, poverty and war and that the three are inseparable. It was the contrast between the two posts that jarred me. I don’t think for a minute that you personally are a racist, but the US is still systemically racist, so we have to be careful we don’t appear to condone it. On one level the joke is funny, but then so are about a million sex jokes that you wouldn’t post on your web but that might make you smile privately. And yes, sometimes we have to laugh to keep sane. I love you Shirley. No harm, no foul. Can I offer you an antacid? 🙂

Ah, Helen. I didn’t mean to offend you, and I’m sorry I did. You know that I take the world and its problems seriously, and that I am concerned about the future of all people, although I readily say I don’t have a soft spot in my heart for terrorists. (and I know that not everyone who “rides a camel” is a terrorist…but, I believe you would agree, that a preponderance of terrorists have been of such countries.)

I still happen to think that is a funny cartoon. Perhaps I am as doctors, who when they are operating on very sick patients, often joke and tell funny stories. Not that they are disrespecting their patient, but I hear they do that to keep their perspective, and to avoid being overwhelmed with the situation.

Again, though, I am apologizing for offending you. By the way, you ruined my dinner. 🙂 I read your response as dinner was nearly finished, and as I ate, I was thinking that I must come in here and apologize. I so do.

That’s funny, but I don’t think a terrorist would risk being known by riding a camel to the airport. I think they’d have their friends drop them off.
