A Prayer for “World Fix”

October 11, 2008 · 7 Comments

An administration official confirms Bush’s planned appearance Saturday evening in the talks involving Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and the Group of 20 countries. The meeting not far from the White House is intended to help bolster the image of international cooperation in dealing with the economic crisis. AP

May God bless President Bush and each of our leaders–at home and abroad– as we struggle through these perplexing and dismal days. We solicit the Almighty to heal our bent world.

THE WORLD is charged with the grandeur of God.
It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
And wears man’s smudge and shares man’s smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.
-
And for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs—
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

    At this point in, not only the history of our country, but that of the world causes me to feel the words of Paul to Timothy very pungent and needful. “Pray for those in authority.” I try, thou I may no always succeed no but I put forth the effort. They, if they will allow Him will direct their ways.

    God bless the leaders of the FREE world.

    Mervi

    We definitely need to pray.

    Hey! I saw you on the Apostolic one stop blog. HOw can I get on?

    Hi, Mary. Welcome to my blog. Hope you come here often.

    I’m not sure what the Apostolic one stop blog is. Not sure what you mean by seeing me there, for I don’t have any blogs other than with WordPress. Do you have a link or other information?

  • Mary Ginty // October 12, 2008 at 1:05 pm

    Oh I am sorry, think link is actually, apostolicbloggers.blogspot.com

    Mary, I went to that site and found this information:

    “West Coast Apostolic Bloggers and Our Friends! Your One Stop for finding the most up-to-date blog posts, with an excerpt of each! If you have a blog to submit, send it over!”

    Evidently, all you have to do is let them know of your blog, and they will post it. Someone else must have sent mine over before I had ever seen the site. Looks like a neat place.

    The more they talk about it, the harder it is to recognize, at least, the sensibility of a One World Order, or New World Order.

    To some, signs of the coming are often included with words of fear and prolonging. And for much of that, I can understand (unsaved loved ones, unlived dreams, etc)… but the referenced of Christ’s coming in the New Testament were ALWAYS given as a hope (with an exception a couple of the parables) to the Church. Come Lord, Jesus! Take your bride away!
