Sextuplets Born to Lake Havasu Mother

June 12, 2007 · 2 Comments

A few weeks ago I noticed signs posted around town here in Lake Havasu announcing what was purported to be the “World’s Biggest Baby Shower.” It seems there were two women here who were pregnant; one with triplets, the other with sextuplets. In Phoenix, yesterday, the sextuplets were born and they are reported to be extremely healthy with no problems at all.

On Monday morning, Laura Masche of Lake Havasu City was so caught up in the joy of welcoming her new grandchildren to the world, she forgot to make use of her camera.

But who could blame her? It isn’t every day that a grandmother witnesses the birth of her sextuplet grandchildren.

“It happened so fast – it may have taken no more than five minutes for them to be born. The whole procedure was so well-orchestrated and really spectacular.

“The nurses were like bees buzzing around the room. Everyone was smiling – they were so grateful that the babies were OK. I had my camera, but I was so excited, I forgot to take pictures,” she said.

Laura Masche is the mother of Bryan Masche. Bryan and his wife, Jenny, of Lake Havasu City, became parents of sextuplets Monday at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. The first child, a girl, was born by Caesarean section at 8:21 a.m. The sixth infant, a boy, was delivered at 8:26 a.m.

Late breaking news here in the area indicate, though, that the mother was just rushed into the intensive care unit. Please pray for her.
